As part of a series of events organized in October 2025 by the Instituto Nacional de Patrimonio Cultural (INPC) to mark the International Day of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, the forum ‘Safeguarding Living Heritage: Lessons from Ecuador’s Intangible Cultural Heritage List’ brings together municipal cultural officers from DTZ 3 to share practical experiences managing manifestations inscribed on Ecuador’s National Representative List.
The full-day event at 17 October 2025 includes: morning presentations on developing technical files that meet INPC standards; afternoon workshops on creating viable safeguard plans with limited budgets; and case studies from successful projects. Between sessions, attendees can view an exhibition of ceremonial objects and chat with tradition bearers invited to share on-the-ground perspectives. The event concludes with a performance demonstrating one of the recognized traditions.
